The world isn’t just made of chocolate. That’s why it has always been a fundamental value of our company to look beyond our own realm, to operate sustainably and to be socially involved. Our efforts to protect our natural resources are a top priority with every expansion effort. If you would like to find out more about our sustainability program download our brochure (PDF).
A good example of this concept is our own, highly-efficient combined heating and power station in Waldenbuch (more about that in Ecology). We are also committed on the other side of the globe. In Nicaragua, we are committed to the protection of the tropical rain forests and better living conditions for small cocoa farmers. CACAONICA is the name of the Waslala cocoa-farming partnership project that we initiated in 1990. (see Cacaonica)
And finally, we’ve completed a “Code of Conduct” guideline. We are sharing this guideline with all of our customers and suppliers, so that together we contribute to sustainable and responsible business management.

In addition to our ecological projects we also care about our employees’ needs. Whether it’s an executive who’s been with us for years, or an apprentice, we want everyone who works for us to feel content and satisfied and be supported as best as possible.
And last but not least, we would like to draw attention to our commitment to supporting the arts – the work of young artists is close to our hearts.
It would give us great pleasure if you share our enthusiasm not only for cocoa and chocolate, but also for our diverse commitments.
